What is your role at the YWC?
Hi! I’m a Youth Mentor, which basically means I’m someone who has lived experience with mental illness. You’ll typically see the first time you visit for an orientation, and after that we can set aside time for individual peer support. That means we can chat about what’s on your mind, whether it’s figuring out how to manage your mental health, or celeberating small and big successes in your life.
Like all of our Youth Mentors, I help to run some of our groups at the YWC, including the Peer Support Circle and Cats! Find out more about these groups by clicking here.

Best advice you’ve ever received
Do your best until you know better. Then, when you know better, do better. – This is my favourite quote by Maya Angelou, and I constantly come back to it to remember that when I’m human and make mistakes, I can always do better next time.
