How will your role help clients at the Youth Wellness Centre?
I identify as someone who has lived experience with mental health difficulties. My role on the team here is to help youth feel comfortable about accessing services, and to help tackle together any barriers or stigma that they may be facing. I hope to work alongside youth, to represent their voices here at the Wellness Centre, in order to make this place as youth-friendly as possible.  I have my Bachelor of Social Work from Ryerson University, and am very excited to be on board at the Youth Wellness Centre!

What is your favourite thing to do on the weekends in Hamilton?
ROCK CLIMB! I am huge into rock climbing, and spend as much time as possible at the rock climbing gym here in Hamilton. As the weather gets warmer though, I hope to take my climbing outdoors. I also love canoe tripping and camping, although there’s not much camping in Hamilton, I love walking the trails and being outside in the summer! I also love to volunteer at 541 Eatery & Exchange – a new cafe here in our wonderful city!

How will your role help clients at the Youth Wellness Centre?
As Transition Coach, I will work with people who are already using mental health services.  Most services for younger people stop when they turn 18, and they have to move on to services for adults. I will connect with people, perhaps a year before, to help get them ready to make this change.  I will help people to learn about themselves, and how to best use the supports and services they might need.

What is your favourite thing to do on the weekends in Hamilton?
Ride the waterfront trails!

How will your role help clients at the Youth Wellness Centre?
Being a part of the Mobile Team will allow us to offer services to youth as an outreach service ‘where they are’ in the community, and to work with a team where each of us brings a unique skill that will allow us to offer support to youth however they need our services.
