What is your role at the YWC?
I am a Peer Support Worker, which means I have my own lived mental health experience. I specifically work with Trans* youth and those who are questioning their gender identities. My role is to support you in figuring out gender identity, navigating the healthcare system as a Trans* person, or anything else Trans related. I understand that reaching out for help can be intimidating but taking the first steps is one of the most important parts of your journey to be the best version of you.
Like all of our Peer Support Workers, I help to run some of our groups at the YWC, including the Peer Support Circle. As the Trans Peer Support Worker, I also run Support Around Gender Experience which is a support group for Trans* and questioning youth. Find out more about these groups by clicking here.
