What is your role at the YWC?

I’m a Peer Support Worker, which basically means I’m someone who has lived experience with mental health concerns. You’ll typically see me the first time you visit for an orientation, and after that we can set aside time for individual peer support. That means we can chat about what’s on your mind, whether it’s figuring out how to manage your mental health, advocate for yourself, or celebrate the small and big successes in your life!

Like all of our Peer Support Workers, I help to run some of our groups at the YWC, including the Peer Support Circle and Art Drop In! Find out more about these groups by clicking  here.

Best advice I’ve ever received:

“You alone are enough . You have nothing to prove to anybody.” – Maya Angelou

Favourite Superhero:

Vixen. Melanin Superheroine with a love for animals and advocating for their rights.
