St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton’s Youth Wellness Centre is a safe environment for young people age 17 to 25 to receive expert care for mental health and substance use issues.
If you are a young person experiencing mental health difficulties, it is never too early to #ReachOut. In fact, research has proven that the earlier mental health issues are identified, assessed and treated, the better the outcome for that young person.
The Youth Wellness Centre exists to help young people access the mental health care that they need, no matter what barriers they may be facing.
Our service is covered by OHIP (meaning you do not have to pay). It is confidential. We are located in downtown Hamilton.
UNDER THE FOLLOWING THREE STREAMS, WE OFFER CONFIDENTIAL CLINICAL CARE:
Young people who are experiencing emerging mental health and substance use concerns. Youth who are looking for help can refer themselves, or be referred by support people or care providers. This stream is called Early Intervention.
Young people who are transitioning from child and adolescent mental health services to adult mental health services. This stream accepts referals from our community partners only, and is called Transition Support.
Through our Mobile Stream, we also provide support to young people who are attending McMaster University, Redeemer University College, Mohawk College, The Living Rock, and The Hamilton Clinic.
