My Role at the YWC:
I am a clinical psychologist for the Early Intervention stream and the YouThrive Program. I identify as a mixed ancestry Indigenous woman. I am Haudenosaunee (Cayuga Nation), Polish and Scottish. I meet with youth to ask questions about concerns related to mental health and wellbeing, which is also known as a diagnostic assessment. These assessments can help me plan a pathway for wellness that fits for you and your needs. Such pathways could involve connecting you with therapy and/or other services in the hospital or community. I co-facilitate group therapy targeting concerns related to mood, anxiety, as well as symptoms stemming from minority stress. I meet with Indigenous youth to provide culturally safe assessments and treatment. I am involved with clinical teaching and supervision of students. I am also involved in program development at the center. It’s important to me that people feel safe and welcome when they come to the YWC and when they meet with me for their care.
